A COLOUR CHART TO BE EXPLORED

The search for the perfect colour
Purity taken to the extreme.

Gianni Maimeri, as an artist and paint manufacturer, followed, with ambition and far-sightedness, the essential nature of colour, made up of the simple formula "oil + pigment and nothing else" to create the perfect ratio between the ingredients of the oil paint.

For over 20 years, Maimeri Puro has embodied experience and tradition, capturing their essence. The search has never ceased, Maimeri Puro today has evolved to achieve all round perfection.

83 pure colours, an infinite number of sharp and clear mixes

Maimeri Puro is made entirely from just one pigment in the maximum possible concentration. From which mixes can be made which are impeccable with sharp and brilliant hues and clean undertones. Colours born to be harmoniously mixed to create shades with an incredible chromatic balance and extraordinary brightness. Impeccable and intense changes in shade are the result of the purity of the materials which live and breathe in a tube of this oil paint.

Single-pigment colours, from the intuition to the production
of Industria Maimeri

Gianni Maimeri's original intuition for many years remained just an industrial dream but the perseverance of his descendants, like his son Leone, led to the realization of all that which was once was considered an unattainable goal. Top quality semi-siccative oils mixed with only one pigment per colour, making this a unique range of its kind and in its applications.

Purity and lightfastness, concentration and care in the preparation

83 colours formulated with a single pigment to maintain purity and stability. All the pigments used have a maximum lightfastness rating in compliance with the US ASTM 4303 standard for oil paints. All the colours are produced with safflower and poppy seed oils, do not yellow over time and ensure maximum chromatic yield and brilliance. Organic pigments at 20% concentration. Inorganic pigments at 80% concentration. Particle size of all colours: 5 micron

First application: 100% Maimeri Puro colour: Maimeri Puro tints are highly concentrated so some colours appear very dark when used in their pure form.

Second application: 50% Maimeri Puro colour + 50% Colourless Medium, i.e. a neutral unpigmented paste. This medium is used for thinning the tints, enhancing the flow and emphasizing the depth of the thinned colour.

Third application: 10% Maimeri Puro colour + 90% Glazing Medium to emphasize the sheen of the tint and the different degree of opaqueness between the colours.

Fourth application: 50% Maimeri Puro colour + 50% Titanium White, to emphasize the undertone of the tint and highlight the concentration.
